How to Make indian style Chiken Biriyani?

here is a recipe for Indian-style chicken biryani:

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups basmati rice
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint
  • 2 tablespoons ghee (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon saffron (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice in cold water and set aside.
  2. In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil and add the rice. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and cook the rice for about 15-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is cooked.
  3. In a separate pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until it is golden brown.
  4. Add the ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and chili powder (if using) to the onions and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked and shredded chicken to the pan and stir to coat it with the spices.
  6. Add the peas, cilantro, and mint to the pan and stir to combine.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the ghee and saffron (if using).
  8. Spread the cooked rice over the chicken mixture in the pan and drizzle the ghee and saffron mixture over the top.
  9. Cover the pan and cook over low heat for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the flavors have melded together.
  10. Serve the biryani hot, garnished with additional chopped cilantro and mint if desired. Enjoy!
