How to make indian style tasty Samosa?


Here is a recipe for making delicious Indian-style samosas at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp amchur (dried mango) powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add the flour, salt, and oil. Mix well.
  2. Slowly add water and mix to form a soft dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
  3. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil and add the cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and coriander seeds.
  4. When the seeds start to crackle, add the green peas and mashed potatoes.
  5. Add the garam masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, amchur powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. Divide the dough into small balls and roll out each ball into a thin circle. Cut the circle into two equal halves.
  7. Take one half and make a cone shape. Fill the cone with the potato mixture and seal the edges with a little water. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling.
  8. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Gently slide the prepared samosas into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  9. Remove the samosas from the oil and drain on a paper towel. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
